VERMONT GREEN:
CLUB LOOKBOOK
A USL 2 team here in the U.S. is doing something special, not only on the pitch but off it as well. I have family ties to Burlington, and what they’ve accomplished in just a few short years is remarkable.
This is a club built on environmental justice and community ownership, turning semi-professional football into the heartbeat of a city.

Vermont Green FC went the entire 2025 USL 2 season without losing a single match. 16 wins and 3 draws before defeating Ballard FC 2-1 in stoppage time to claim their first-ever national championship.

“Our fans will set the tone. They create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Together we can make history.” - head coach Chris Taylor

More than 7,000 fans tried to claim one of 2,600 seats at Virtue Field, selling out in under a minute, and thousands more lined the fences and packed the perimeter just to be part of the winning moment.

The Vermont Green are proof that football at any level, done right, is more than a game. The product they’ve put out on the pitch matches what they’ve been able to accomplish within the community.
They’re blending soccer with environmental justice and development, focusing on climate action and sustainability in Burlington and across the state. The club works with local partners like SunCommon (which makes clean energy more affordable) and King Street Center (a cornerstone of youth development and family support in Burlington), and uses its platform for social advocacy. Their jerseys aren’t bad-looking either..
Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, Noah Kahan (of Strafford, Vermont), recently partnered with the Vermont Green for a limited edition kit release, where all proceeds went to The Busyhead Project, and I think that’s fantastic.
“The Busyhead Project is a non-profit mental health organization, founded by Noah Kahan, that aims to end the stigma around mental health and improve access to resources.”
No one should ever feel like they can’t talk to someone.
I’ll leave the link to the non-profit HERE.
