I remember that era of Everton. They seemed like they were the up an coming team. Lukaku, Barley, and Stones were not just good players but they had high ceilings. It felt like the club was moving in the right direction before they got raided for their players. I thought when Moyes came back, he would bring back some of that magic, granted he stopped them from getting relegated so that is a major, major plus but finished 13th this season. What do you think they need to do in the Summer?

Gotta let go of the dead weight and actually recruit well…easier said than done, but our track record for bringing in players is so incredibly poor lol

New owners need to ball out this summer..

Thanks for putting this together - my favourite Everton team though was under Moyes first time round - Arteta, Neville, Jags, Osman, Peanut etc. It’s crazy how quickly time goes though. All feels like yesterday and the teams start to merge together in my head.

Totally! I don’t remember them as well but have watched some games back from that team.

I want the joy back. 🤣

Ross Barkley was my player back in the day! Was so happy for him when he had that one season at Luton

Liverpool fan here, but that 3-3 derby at Goodison was absolute Barclays-era chaos. Lukaku, Suárez, Sturridge, Barkley… pure football theatre for neutrals.

Everton were unreal in that first Martinez season, a little unlucky not to get top four.

Not to put a negative spin on your celebration of that era of the club, but why do you think Martinez couldn’t sustain the success?

Ahh man that’s a great question! One I wish I had the answer to. 🤣

I miss strikers like Lukaku in the PL. I was excited to see his stint at Chelsea, but that ended quickly! Brilliant piece. Shame to see the turnout Coleman got; he dedicated his life to the club.

Thanks for saying that! You’re right I hope we do more for Seamus!
